we will be having beef for our christmas meal.how much/how big should we buy?

There will be 5 adults and 3 children.
Anyone know what to serve as dessert if not having a christmas pudding. (mum insisting on having her christmas pudding so she's bringing her own!)

go to butcher and ask, they'll help with cooking times etc too and you can order it so not have to worry about it.. rib would be nice. topside can be dry.

how proficient a cook are you? trifle would be nice if you have time.
