any advice on icing cake with roll out icing?

last time i did it it cracked it few places and was bit bumpy-mess!
ive got to do birthday cake for tomorrow!any tips on making it easy?

I've used this a couple of times. When you roll it out make sure you dust the work surface with loads of icing sugar. Also, nead the icing loads before you roll it out. You have to get it really maleable, almost so its a bit warm to touch (Like Playdough).

yes all over. may need to heat it egently to make it spreadable but makes icing easier tp move on cake and to stick
