Have smoked ham shank (thanks to other thread for inspiring me) and am making lentil soup but have never made it myself before - mum's speciality see

Do I just fry me veg and then chuck in shank and lentils and water then?

sounds lovely lentil soup is yummy. check how salty it is whip out shank if getting a bit much.

Good idea, I wouldn't have thought to check saltiness until way too late [doh].

I cut the skin off it too, it was rank.
