Ok you need a mixture of Gruyere/Emmenthal/Beaufort grated. You need to rub a clove of garlic around the inside of the fondue pot, heat up a glass of kirsch inside and slowly add the grated cheese to the pot and stir as it melts. Some people add cornflour to stop the cheese splitting and there are other things to add but that is th basic way of doing one.
Cubes of diced bread, cornichons, pickled onions are all good to dip.
