Never use microwavce to defrost meat - ever.

Pork is nearly defrosted but not quite and I want to stick it in some marinade for the rest of the afternoon.....

  1. can i finish the defrosting process in the microwave
  2. how?
  3. should i just leave them in the fridge for a few more hours....?

tia

hi popsycal!

if i were you i would leave them out at room temp for a couple of hours and i bet that would do the trick then you still have time for the marinade before tea!

i just love postings like this (am i sad?)

how about putting them in the marinade to finish defrosting in the fridge?

FWIW I agree with NP, let them finish off on the side. I did/do this all the time even when PG.

my mum defrosts her pork sausages in the micro, is that the same thing? doesnt take long. but i would still leave them out at room temp, its ok as long as they are covered. when are you due? didnt know you were pg!
