Kiwi fruit...

I gave my DS some kiwi fruit yesterday for the first time which he loved. He is 15mo. Today he has had bad diarrhoea all day. Could it be the kiwi...? There were plenty of seeds to be seen (TMI sorry)!

Oh yeah baby! DD2 loves kiwis too, but they definitely have the same effect as you're describing. Hence we have to limit their intake

Oh, that's a relief actually. Always good to know what the problem is!

I thinks kiwis and pineapples have very high levels of enzymes which I can very occasionally get away with, but usually they are acidic enough to make my mouth sting and lips itch for several hours after so I don't get them often. I imagine that if they are strong enough to hurt an adults mouth, then they must have a bit of an effect on a little ones' system!
