fat substitute!!!!!!

can anybody please tell me where I can buy a jar of fruit concentrate. It says on the label that it can be used as a fat substitute. I use it in my christmas cake every year (to make fat free christmas cake) and I usually get it from Tescos....THEY HAVE STOPPED STOCKING IT!!!!!!! AAAAAAAH!
Please can anyone help me.....I think it was by 'Sunpat' ...but not sure

They sell all sorts of "wierd" stuff IYKWIM. It was the only place I could find concentrated fruit juice to use in recipes without sugar.

Is it called "LiteBake"? I think I bought mine in Tescos but a bigger Sainsbury's or Waitrose might do it.

I couldn't find it online but then again, I couldn't find some of the stuff I have seen in their stores either!

Sorry Jeddah - the shop has been taken over by H&B and don't have any. The assistant said she had heard of it (in a recipe book) but they didn't have any. Don't know what to do next I'm afraid! Good luck

hi jeddah - the only advice I can give is that if you can't find it you might consider using ground mixed nuts to provide the fat bit of the cake. This is what I use in 'healthy' fat cake I make (though it's not a Christmas cake). It obviously means that it isn't fat free but it is much more 'good fats' than bad.

Search for "fat free recipes" on Google. There's a website (US) dedicated to them so they may have alternatives. I thought applesauce was one of the alternatives.
