My DS is on goats milk and has been since turning 1 - now 1 and a half. I looked on the St Helens farm website and it just isn't at all clear. The figures are clear for cows but I know goats milk has a diff calorific content. Does anyone know how much is ideal for them to drink... would be handy to know. thank you ;)

I wuld give the same (in actuality you're supposed to give formula if on soya until 3 though, so you could well ask GP to refer to dietician), but remember to up the iron intake as goats milk has a lower content (there is research to suggest that it balances out becuse of other nutrients but i wouldnt risk it in a toddler)

thanks peachy. that is very interesting about the iron and I think I will get some advice on that. cows milk just made him majorly mucousy (sorry for that info!) and being on goat has made such a difference it's untrue. thank you!

Ds has been on goats milk - though off it at the moment - he had equal quantities. Re iron he loves having the occaisional beaker with carob powder in - or a teaspoon of carob powder on his breakfast cereal - fantastic source of iron that he enjoys and has no adverse side-effects...
