13 month old on "Milk Strike" - how can I get her to drink milk again

She takes one sip of milk (from a bottle, a beaker of a cup) says "no no" and hands it back.
She will drink water, eat yoghurt, cheese and butter no problem.
I am worried because everything I read says she should be drinking 10-14oz of a milk a day as well as other dairy products.
Am I worrying over nothing? Or are there any great ways to get her to drink milk again? (She used to love it)

as long as she gets calcium from other sources like cheese and yoghurt then you don't need to worry. will she have milk in cereal or porridge?

give her thins which have milk incorporated into them like scrambled egg, pasta with cheesy sauce etc

Na do you still want a Teutonia? I'm selling mine, just seen your post on my other thread!!

Columbia · 22/11/2007 09:47

Sorry for the hijack, salad

Columbia · 22/11/2007 09:47

Might she have 'pink milk' or similar? Worth a try...

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 09:53

did you used to be FA?

saladsucks · 22/11/2007 09:57

Columbia - do you mean adding flavouring to it? I thought that they were full of sugar and e-numbers. Are there any nice ones?

Yes sorry! am FA. You're right about the additives. silly idea. Perhaps mixing it up with a bit of natural flavour ie like a smoothie though?

Columbia · 22/11/2007 10:09

There are soya milk drinks for kids, in different flavours. There must be something similar without loads of nasties in...

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 10:10

you could just add mushed up fruit to it.

saladsucks · 22/11/2007 10:34

Now that's a good idea. I could puree some raspberries and add them to the milk. This is why I love mumsnet - thank you both!

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 10:41

also you can give her things like custard and rice pudding to up milk intake.

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 10:41

oh and milk jelly, blanchmange, mousse etc

Columbia · 22/11/2007 10:47
