Best before or use by?

I ahve pre-prepared new potaotes use by yesterday and are wondering whether to risk using them for DH and I.

foofi · 21/11/2007 17:07

I'd still be using them in 2 weeks' time.

Tommy · 21/11/2007 17:07

blimey - it is only 21st today isn't it?

I wouldn't tell you the date on some of my veggies

VanillaPumpkin · 21/11/2007 17:13

Hell yes!
What if they hadn't come in the bag? Just go by the look of them. It isn't prepacked meat.

shrooms · 21/11/2007 23:33

Hmmm. I hate to be awkward and I know that it is too late now and you'll probably be fine if you did eat them ect ect. But I wouldn't have depending on the veg as I once got very very sick from some prepared veg from tescos (bah) and that was the first and only time I've eaten them. Might have just beem bad luck though of course. Please be okay and prove me wrong

Twinklemegan · 21/11/2007 23:49

I never worry about the date on fruit and veg. As long as they're not furry we eat them - we've all been OK so far .

mosschops30 · 22/11/2007 08:35

shrooms I'm still alive so far
