Which are the BEST Gold Chocolate Coins?

I am planning a big investment in chocolate coins but which are the best?

My fave chocolate is Lindt milk choc or good old Cadbury's.

I don't want cheap crap.

So which chocolate coin is best?

Thorntons are quite nice.

This won't be what you're expecting, but I think the Lidl ones are really good quality.

Well that's very interesting PW

I might do a taste test...

I the children like the M&S gold coins because you get notes with them too (which is satisfying in a more-chocolate-than-a-coin sort of way)

expatinscotland · 21/11/2007 16:55

i will be your small relative, mp.

that sounds a great idea!

stripeymama · 21/11/2007 16:57

Divine fairtrade ones.

We used them for dd's birthday treasure hunt, and the ones I found in the garden weeks later were delicious.

lemonaid · 21/11/2007 16:59

I was thinking of buying a chocolate coin maker and some nice chocolate and Doing It Myself (or possibly helping DS to Do It Himself, although I don't know how many coins would survive the process...)

Whooosh · 21/11/2007 17:05

M&S ones are organic but I sooooo wish Lindt made them.
I will however be treating myself DD to a couple of Lindt reindeer.

perpetualworrier · 21/11/2007 17:11

The Lidl ones have notes too, although they are Euros. Doesn't matter to the children, but drives MIL wild (Daily Mail reader). Come to think of it do you think that could be why I like them?

Seriously, I think all Lidl choc is great they do a 70% coco bar for 45p and their tree decs are good too.

I am just bumping this in case anyone has any more opinions

thorntons have three different varieties:
silver coins are white choc
gold are milk choc and
most fabulous of all:
shiny red dark chocolate coins.

Not sure why I am so impressed by the possibility of red coins...but they look lovely
