I've got some leftover chicken, unsmoked bacon, peppers, onions. First idea is some kind of pasta bake but how do I make a sauce for that?

Any other suggestions?

You could try www.cookingbynumbers.com

I would probably do a tomato sauce, mix it all in with pasta, then spread philadelphia cheese over the top and loads of grated cheese and bake.

I would just use a normal cheese sauce like This One

Cook everything first then stir into the sauce. Chuck into the oven for 20mins with grated cheese on the top.

what kind of herbs and spices would you add to the tinned tomatoes?

Furball, do you think I could use philadelphia for the cheese sauce? Am a little low on grated cheese (and have a rotten cold so I really don't want to have to pop down to the shops)

I'm usually a pasta person but those bits and bobs sound like they'd be good in risotto too.

I wouldn't necessarily make a 'sauce' for pasta - just fry the onions, peppers and bacon and toss with cooked pasta, some cut up fresh tomatoes, herbs (pref fresh basil or chives or oregano), bit of butter or olive oil and parmesan.

risotto
just add white wine and olive oil, burn off alcohol a bit, add rice and stock, keep stirring and plop in some cream/gorgonzola if you have some.
