Should I buy a slow cooker?

Am thinking of buying a slow cooker to free up time in the evenings. Do any of you own one, and would you recommend them? If so, which one? Thanks.

Double yes! I've got a Morphy Richards one which is great.

I got mine from argos 2 years ago. Mine is massive and always therefore do enough to feed an army( normally stews chillis etc) I can therefore freeze 2 further meals this means you cut costs of cooking again at a later date.
Kids tend to eat more of their meat when slow cooked as is much more tender.
Other main advantage as I can feed the children, and DH and I can eat when they are in bed without the further hassle of reheating or cooking from scratch
I would not be without it.

Thanks - just the encouragement I needed. Look forward to swapping recipes later
