What's the RDA for ..... pickled onions?!

My boys (5 and 7) are obsessed with (small silverskin) pickled onions atm, and would happily eat their way through a huge jar if I let them

They tend to have about 6 each, and then beg for more, and usually end up with about 12 each.

Is there any reason why they shouldn't eat these in such quantities?

I'm normally pretty laidback about food, but this just seems a bit odd. But I can't actually think of a logical reason why they shouldn't eat loads of them if they want to!

The onions would be good for them. Better check salt content though. (added to vinegar)

Don't want to worry you but I thought that too much pickled food increases your risk of stomach cancer...though I'm sure that's caused by more than 12 pickled onions a day
