If I make Glace Icing it would pour and fil the gap between the cake and the top of the cake case - but if I remember right that takes ages to set

So what other icing can I use to do that or am I doomed to failure?

You could use "normal" icing, but quite thick so you smear it to the edges

or buttercream?

or if you are desperately running short of time, dust with icing sugar and using a bit of thick icing, stick a cherry in the middle of each one!

I'd go buttercream, if you have a piping bag, you can make pretty patterns on top, but obviously it won't set, so be careful if you need to carry them anywhere!

DH is taking them - they need to be tornado proof

Thick icing is I think the only way to go damn

31 cup cakes/fairy cakes present & correct

With lemon icing and a chocolate drop

Icing is slightly off centre and there are about 24 children - so that allows for extras/staff etc

Now I think I'll go back to bed
