Where do you live and how much do you want to spend?

nimnom · 12/11/2007 13:34

I'd be happy to make one for you but I'm too far away. (I'm in North Herts)

Slubberdegullion · 12/11/2007 13:39

Make one.

Go on make one.

Straight forward sponge in a tin. Cover with yellow icing. Put caster sugar in a bag, add a few drops of yellow colouring, rub away, sprinkle over icing...voila sand!

Put some little figures on the top, bits of lego, etc. Make a cross out of some licorice string.

Treasure Map!! Easy. Will impress the kids too. You could even get your ds to help you make it, or at least draw a picture of a map for you (as a plan).

Do you know where Twinkle is, nimnom? I would make her one if she's not to far away

nimnom · 12/11/2007 13:51

It says on her page that she's in Essex.

seeker · 12/11/2007 13:52

Why didn't I think to look there. Well I'm in Kent so it depends on where in Essex, I suppose.

I had this problem for my DM's birthday in the summer. I went to Waitrose. Although they have a 7 day lead-time as well, they usually have a few celebration cakes in stock, behind the bakery counter, so you might be lucky.

doitdoitdoit.

dont be pissing around making it, you av enough to do

jezzemx · 12/11/2007 13:59

Go to Asda with a favourite/cheeky photo of your DS and they will put it on one of their cakes. You can get different sizes and they are a brilliant price.
They copy the photo onto the icing and it takes about 10/15 mins. We did this and our DD loved it.

deenymcqueenygoreandguts · 12/11/2007 13:59

go on, shovel it into party bag jobies, they eat nowt but shite at parties any way!

Twinkie1 · 12/11/2007 14:15

Sorry too far! I make a mean Pirate Ship cake compete with cannon and cannon balls!

Twinkie1 · 12/11/2007 14:24

I know I could get him one elsewhere but I loved the pirate one - bloody Waitrose have a 7 day lead time and 14 days for the pirate ship cake!

May have to trawl the shops on Friday afternoon!!!

Don't even have any work surface in the kitchen so complete nightmare! Granite man coming tonight and said maybe able to sort out surfaces for Friday afternoon but even so have got to do the bloody cleaning and everything else before all the brats turn up and wreck the joint!
