Bought a taste the difference gressingham duck for half price which dh is about to turn into a delicious roast dinner. Should he:

a) make stock

b) chuck

c) feed the the cat with

the giblets?

Or any other suggestions?

And if (c), should they be cooked or can the cat eat them raw?

TIA

my mum and dad would use the giblets to make stock then feed the cat the cooked leftover pieces of duck!! it was a treat for the cat and i'm pretty certain they would need to be cooked to feed the cat as they can get bugs from raw meat just like us!!

OOOh thank you for replying

So, just boil them in water? And then use the stock for gravy?

yeah, or stews and in casseroles etc- you can easily freeze it in tupperwear tubs if there is a lot....and my mum would chop some veg into it sometimes to add to the flavour....but only if she had veg that needed using up....

cats dont need to have cooked meat......thats obvious surely, you don't see many cats with a camp fire! lol

BUT you never see then eat the innards and stuff, thats what you stepo on when they leave you a pressie lol

I would make stock and then treat the cat to some cooked duck

trinityrhino - good point about camp fires! Although my cat has been known to swallow mice whole.

Stock is being made, cat will be happy!

i read that cats get the bug that causes toxoplasmosis from eating raw meats......so i suppose that means cats should eat cooked meats....???
