Homemade waffles

My little one loves belgian waffles and because he's reluctant to eat eggs and most diary I kid myself that they're good for him.

Of course they're not because of all the other rubbish that's in the bought ones. Does anyone have experience of making them at home?

If I buy a waffle maker, will it sit in the cupboard unused because it's more trouble than it's worth and are homemade ones enough like the bought ones for him to actually eat them?

As always, grateful for any advice.

My waffle maker get used alot. It earns it's counter space

I used to live in Belgium and the waffles are yummy. I did buy one pack from Asda for a treat but they just have too much sugar in. Hubby buys them the ones in the yellow packet but I still think they should be treats as they aren't the best. I would be interested in what you decide to do as I love a kitchen gadget!

Thank you

Anyone recommend a model or a recipe?

Would it be really mean of me to give him a waffle maker as part of his christmase pressie?

It's very popular to make home made waffles in Belgium. They are delicious, a lot nicer then the shop bought ones.

I did have a recipe, but I've lost it.
