Mince and onions is very school dinners I agree . It is my comfort food that my Granny used to give me.

I've lost my desire for food since I had DS1. Just don't ever really fancy food any more. Would eat the same meals over and over without caring now. Very odd. It's horrible in a restaurant - I can never decide what to have as nothing appeals.

lol, nailpolish. You are right but cottage pie just sounds better! As does mince and tatties.

Mince & onions just sounds drab and canteeny!

oh too late for my latest fad!! kids LOVE it and is top new fave meal when they have friends round for tea!

Cowboy pie!
par boil some sliced potatoes.
Mince, browned with some onions (and an oxo cube if you so desire), chuck in a tin of chopped tomoatoes and a tin of baked beans (I add some chilli powder to give it a slight kick), brown cook for a few mins, pop it into an oven dish, layer the sliced potatoes on top, brush with olive oil, stick in oven (200 - 220 ish) fr about 20 mins. For some strange reason everyone loves it - even me and I don't really do meals with baked beans in them. You can add extra veg as you want.

Warning: expect your 5 yo ds to start sayting 'Howdy pardner' with glee at every opportunity!
