Just looked it up on wikipedia and it looks awful am i the only one who didn't know what miso soup was????

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 11:17

I love green tea and white tea (can recommend Swirling Mist white tea made by Dragonfly- bit stronger than green tea,and darker) Green tea is a bit nasty if bag in too long !

isn't miso soup meant to be great for breakfast?

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 11:20

Does instant miso soup taste different to diluted miso paste? I tried the latter and it was really tasteless, I tried adding some more paste but it didn't really dissolve, just floated around. T'was grim. Did I do something wrong?

HairyIrene · 08/11/2007 17:13

profyaffle
miso (paste) treat like stock (see earlier posts)
and
easier to mix it with small amount of water first, tehn add rest
like custard powder

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:13

I was thinking of getting the paste but didn't in the end

Really like miso soup so must chip in here though haven't read all posts - make from scratch with dried kombu and bonito flakes (omit if vegetarian) and miso paste. Takes less than 10 minutes and tastes miles better than instant. I think the kombu gives it a richer aftertaste. Put anything in them and kids scoff them down. It's magic.

Note though that lots of miso paste contain gm stuff. I get the organic brown stuff from posh organic shop...
