Edible glue and magic sparkles do they taste disgusting?

Can edible glue be used to stick chocolate shapes onto a chocolate fudge cake?
Or do I need an iced cake to use it?

Also does it taste of anything?

can you not use icing sugar mixed with water, it works well and won't cotain any nasty chemicals.

Would chocolate shapes just not stick onto the chocolate fudge icing?

I could use icing sugar for the chocolate shapes but not sure if it would work for the magic sparkles as I've never used them before.

I want to put the chocolate shapes around the side of the cake so they will need a bit of help to stay put.
