So where do you all stand on sugar on strawberries then?

I've always thought better fruit with a little sugar for afters than cake or biscuits, but perhaps I'm way off the mark?

I would never make a tomato salad without a pinch of sugar - makes all the differece. Toms, spring onion, basil, balsamic, tiny pinch salt & peper and pinch sugar - lovely.

The sugar draws out the juices, much like salt does. Therefore, a little is fine I think

I have to confess to drizzling honey over broccoli in the past to get DS to eat it!

Made him think he liked broccoli, then when I served it up after that without the honey he still ate it.

I did also once dip broccoli and carrots in melted dark chocolate for DS for a birthday treat (he got a cake too, I just got carried away in the spirit of chocolate dipping and wanted to see how far I could take it )

Lol, she is good with most veg but won't eat leaves (salad) or tomato so lunchbox veg is limited to chopped up pappers, cucumber and carrots really.. I'lll et you know if she ate the tomato tomorrow.

pmsl My son is a fussy beggar and has gone through stages of eating nothing at all for weeks on end, so I am happy when he just eats to be honest. I have tempted him into eating many a thing by smothering it honey or tomato ketchup

MascaraOHara · 31/10/2007 19:19

she didn't eat them. ho hum.
