Aldi pancake maker

Aldi is advertising a pancake maker (available from 4 Feb). Does anyone have it and is it any good? Better than a pancake pan?

I’ve got a pancake makes from either aldi/lidl that I’ve had for years - it’s great! Really easy to use - my one piece of advice is to put vegetable oil in your pancake mix then no need to oil the pancake maker at all! Make sure hot before you use it- remember it makes crepes rather than pancakes or they are thinner. I use mine to make savoury ( cheese, ham, mushroom etc) Also lovely with marshmallows melted on it with Nutella ( nb Nutella on hot plate for tiny amount of time otherwise it tends to burn and go grainy) then fold up and serve

What’s wrong with a frying pan or griddle? I find those sorts of gadgets end up in the back of the cupboard.

Pancake maker?? Do you mean waffle maker? Pancakes easier in frying pan.

How long would that take to make pancakes with this? I usually make loads with 3 pans. (Would be 4 if they fitted on hob.)

I looked at this and got so excited about it and then realised a pan is exactly the same. It’s a flat hot surface. Like a pan.

I saw this but I cook pancakes a lot and I think I would just take out the pan and be annoyed at the kitchen cupboards getting cluttered.

I just moved house following divorce and not got round to buying a pancake pan yet, then came across this in aldi brochure and wondered if it's any better.

Save your money and get a waffle maker - then you'll have all bases covered.

It's all about storage for me. Have you the space to store a pancake maker? Pans are used for all different things and probably take up less room.

I've bought this for ds's birthday as he loves pancakes and is starting to help cook in the kitchen

Thought it's probably safer than him using a gas hob

Arrived today in the post and looks really good, going to have a better look at it tonight when he's in bed and check it works etc

I bought one from Aldi years ago and have used it regularly.
It is easier to use that a frying pan and in my case the surface area is bigger than any frying pan I own. Since it is flat, I find it easier to flip the pancake over with a spatula, also as it is electric the temperature is more consistent .
I do not usually do gadgets, but this is one I have kept.

Bought it yesterday and used it today for the first time - so far so good and I'd say there was a bit of wow factor there for me in comparison to using a simple pan. Good fun.

Even my waffle maker has gone in back of the cupboard. That's the thing with gadgets like this, always a wow factor at the start then the novelty wears off usually....

We have one of these and it is very good.
Gets used now all the time for pancakes.
The beauty is that it keeps the same temperature all the time you don't have to keep turning up or down your frying pan.
Very easy to grease with a bit of butter/oil mix on kitchen paper between each pancake, as it has a very flat non stick surface.
It's safer for kids to use as they are not dealing with a very hot frying pan that is smoking or dripping bits.
It barely needs cleaning, just wipe it carefully while still warm.
If you make pancakes a lot and have the space to store it somewhere easy to get at, it's worth it.

Bit late to this ... we have a pancake maker, not Aldi but Breville. Had it for years and it’s still like brand new. It’s the best kitchen purchase I’ve ever made. Used frequently for pancakes but also for things like quesadillas. Never use oil, not needed, not even in the batter mix. Easy to clean with a quick wipe. Doesn’t take up much room in the cupboard but to be honest is used so much, it’s out on the side most of the time.
