Spent 2 hours clearing out a 90 yr old mans garden before we could shake the trees and climb them for apples. Hard work must pay off (so i keep reminding DC). So we have a bag of coxes and a bag of brambles? sp. I have promised DC we will make apple pies tomorrow. Jamie and Nigella are just a little... well i love them, just haven't half the ingredients in the cupboard, please help.

I think you're pretty much ok with chunks of apple, some sugar, a little water, maybe some cinnamon or a few raisins. Put in pie dish and then just take a sheet of pastry (bought ready-rolled if you're lazy like me ) and put over the top. Make some holes for steam, get dcs to make some decorations (couple of leaves and an apple?) out of the scraps of pastry for the top. Bake.

Now, this is just off the top of my head. Maybe you need to cook the filling first. I dunno, but you definitely don't need any fancy ingredients.

Here. Seems that you do have to cook the apples first. I'm more of a crumble sort of person due to extreme laziness .
