do i need to cook the sausages first? am making 4 small ones...

cook the sausages in some oil

when the oil is hot and the sausages have a bit of colour, add the batter

cook until batter golden and risen

the oil must be very hot to make the batter rise and not go really solid

My MIl always told me to use the same dish that you cook the sausages in, the dish has to be hot, or else again they may not rise! Good luck and enjoy!
