Now I don't imagine that our cackhanded attempt will taste any better than M&S but I thought it might while away an afternoon this half term. Yes? No? If yes, I was thinking of using Delia's. Anything to watch out for.

I made the Delia recipe for the first time last year and it was absolutely delicious. In fact I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was and far superior to M&S. Might make using half the ingredients this year as it did make 2 puddings which was over the top.

Did you make it about now?

I made it at the end of November last year which seemed about right for me. Will probably make it about the same time this year too.

Did you really steam it for eight hours?

Delia definitely, I made 2 last year and they were lovely, I didn't like christmas pudding before these either. Steamed for many hours and am making mine and the mince this week.

But does that mean I have to stay indoors for eight hours while it steams?

No but you do need to top water up a few times though.
