donnie · 15/10/2007 13:21

garlic bread much nicer than jacket pots IMO and less stodgy.Salad as well.

WeeWitchyWilkie · 15/10/2007 13:22

Salad and garlic bread

Anna8888 · 15/10/2007 13:23

Nothing.

But you can serve a salad afterwards.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/10/2007 13:23

Another vote for salad and garlic bread!

Baffy · 15/10/2007 13:23

mishymoo · 15/10/2007 13:23

Ditto - always do salad and garlic bread.

belgo · 15/10/2007 13:23

crusty bread and a simple salad.

flowerybeanbag · 15/10/2007 13:23

Salad and garlic bread.

Goes nicely with chips for maximum comfort stodge appeal, but for nice dinner, def salad and garlic bread. Garlic ciabatta maybe.

fruitymum · 15/10/2007 13:23

green salad with rocket and baby spinach - whatever is in the garden!

Slubberdegullion · 15/10/2007 13:24

Another vote for garlic bread and green salad (or peas).

GreatHauntieWurly · 15/10/2007 13:25

think i will stick with garlic bread and salad, and shove some oven chips in for the kids.

At this time of year I do some nice focaccia bread and roast some mediterranian veg ie courgette, pepper, onion etc with some olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar.

In summer I would do a simple rocket & spinach salad or something.

I rarely serve potatoes with it because it's too much carbs to have in one shot

If I do have potatoes at the table, they are roasted baby new potatoes roasted with garlic and rosemary.

twelveyeargap · 15/10/2007 13:25

I don't normally serve anything with spag bol, so given it and lasagne are basically the same... You already have protein, carbs and veg in there.

cherrycake · 15/10/2007 13:26

Same as you GHW, jackets and salad, nice n simple n colourful!
