Quick! Is wholewheat flour the same as wholemeal?

It is the same thing. WHolemeal is English, the other (I think) American.

Scones are yummy but the shortbread doesn't work following the recipe! [cross]

better shortbread:
10oz plain flour
4oz sugar
4oz corflour
8oz butter

melt butter, stir in everything else, press into lined swiss roll tin
25min gas 3 top of oven
