Help - Posh London Brunch?

ImBarryScott · 13/10/2007 16:40

Need to book for a birthday brunch. Blardy Wolseley, where I wanted to go, doesn't take bookings for 8 people. All my other brunchy places are in the City, so not open on weekends. Can anyone help? We'd like somewhere in the City/west end/shoreditch/SE areas. Thank you, mumsnet gastronomes .

We have just had real problems booking a brunch in London for ten people for my parent's 40th Wedding anniversary. We ended up at the Zetter in Clerkenwell, not hugely posh but it was enjoyed by all.

thanks doddle, will check the link.

Come on the rest of you, there must be some food ponces around tonight. Or are you all out at dinner ?

There is also the Terminus in Liverpool Street, they do brunch, then go into lunch, open at the weekends, part of the Great Eastern Hotel.

Eggs benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and bagels etc, traditional breakfast and you can have champagne if you wish.

Smiths of Smithfield is lovely.

ImBarryScott · 16/10/2007 09:57

Thanks everyone! Margo - can you make reservations at Smiths for Brekkie? I wasn't sure. Love that place though .

Terminus sounds lovely. I'll have a nosey later this week.

The restaurant in Borough market is good-will check what it's called-Roast I think....

Whooosh · 16/10/2007 10:16

No they don't do brunch but Smiths of Smithfield would get my vote too-excellent.

The conrad in Chelsea Harbour was excellent for an all morning breakfast many years ago (pre ds). Don't know about it now
If you want to go trad - how about Simpsons in the Strand - again my experience of this place is many years out of date

margoandjerry · 16/10/2007 11:24

website says top floor do brunch on a Sunday - might be just what you want.

Ground floor prob too casual for what you have in mind. Mmmmmmmm eggs benedict.

Yu-um.

ImBarryScott · 16/10/2007 11:32

You lot are stars

Am now torn between Roast, as I'm lazy and it's not too far fromhome, and Smiths. I had no idea the Top Floor did brunch as well as the downstairs bit.
