Anyone got a good recipe for onion gravy

I'm making toad in the hole today ,does anyone have a good onion gravy recipe ?

Open bisto onion gravy granules, spoon some into jug, pour on hot water

(sorry, couldn't resist... hopefully someone will come along with a proper recipe shortly!)

Sweat LOTS of chopped onions over a very low heat in a tablespoon of oil and a tablespoon of butter for about 15-20 minutes or until they are caramelised. Add a tblspoon of flour and stir for a few mins to cook it out, add red wine and hot stock(veg for veggie, beef or chicken if not) thyme, mustard and a pinch of sugar as well as salt and pepper. Allow to simmer and reduce for about 15 minutes.

There are quicker ways but this works best.
