Can anyone make giant cookies like the supermarket ones?

i am sadly addicted to Tescos triple choc giant cookies, and can quite happily eat a pack of 4 all by myself

i've tried to make similar soft textured biscuits but they always turn out too crispy, or just not cooked if i take them out sooner/lower the temp

has anyone got a recipe they could share please?

mine didn't turn out like shortbread . Mine were like soft shop bakery biscuits, crunchy on the outside, soft and melty in the middle. Not sure how I did it . Maybe too much butter as it was too sticky to roll.

I am currently trying EmilyDavidson's recipe. YUM!

Oooh all these cookie recipes to try.

I think you could probably leave out the salt, Tommy.

I did Pruni's with DS today, and agree that they are more of a shortbread. Very nice but so rich I could only have two!!!! (And DS could even finish one - but he HAD scraped the bowl out earlier.)

I had a fabulous chocolate cookie recipe once and posted it here. I can't for the life of me remember which recipe it is in my Giant Cookie Book though Used one hell of a lot of chocolate though...!

CorrieDale - I made yours yesterday, they are lovely, thanks for the recipe. Going to work my way through the rest of the recipes here too!

Tried and tested the recipe by Orchide on Tue 09-Oct-07 09:01:11 (listed earlier on this thread)

10 out of 10.

my dh thought they were shop bought too!

i used plain choc chips, and only made half the quantity to test out recipe. will make a big batch for the weekend.

Thank You Orchide!!

Try experimenting with different sugars to get the right texture. Very crumbly biscuits like shortbread are made with icing sugar with a sliding scale up to soft chewy cookies made with muscavado/granulated combinations. [geek emotion]

Ate way too many of them, feel sick, can't sleep.
maybe won't make them again till next weekend.

thanks PP, know nothing about baking (or cooking) so that info helps.
