I bung them in anything aims mum. Stews etc. You can also make lentil and cheese loaf or lentil burgers.

Try puy or beluga lentils too which have more flavour than the orange type and still only take ten minutes to cook.

I put cook puy lentils in one pan then quinoa in another (in stock) then drain and mix the two together. You can add finely chopped onions and perhaps sun dried tomatoes or olives. You can eat it hot or cold and just add whatever bits and pieces you fancy.

Actually dahl can be slimming. Just use a tiny bit of oil to start iff the onions, and then spices and chilli for lots of flavour. Not very many calories in that!

Use them with lots of veg in soups and casseroles.

Use them cooked in homemade bread.

Simply mashed with garlic paste in place of mashed potato.

Comine with curry spices and loads of veg and top with sweet potato or swede/ celeriac mash for lentil pie.

Cook with brown rice and spices.
