Oven has packed up, hob still works. Don't want to overdo the pancakes and griddle cakes.

Flapjack needs an oven. Make porridge

Tickle · 04/10/2007 20:13

Maybe someone else will, but I have never heard of one...

but choccy biscuit fridge cake doesn't need baking

This sounds ok but you may not have the ingredients?

Tickle · 04/10/2007 20:14

nice name Annabel

UlySCREAMS · 04/10/2007 20:15

have you got a microwave?

TooTicky · 04/10/2007 20:16

Might be able to adapt that UlyS, thanks. Don't have the ingredients for the choccie biscuit fridge cake.
Oh yes Annabel, I'm sure cold porridge will go down a treat in the dcs' lunchboxes

No, I don't do microwaves.

Ah. You never said that was what it was for! Although don't the Scots pour it into a drawer in the kitchen and eat it by the slice?
I'd rather eat the drawer.

Do you have the ingredients for cornflake/rice crispie cakes? Off te top of my head I think you just need cereal (could use any type I suppose), golden syrup and butter,

faylisa · 04/10/2007 20:24

Or if you want the choccie version then you could mix in some cocoa or drinking choc

UlySCREAMS · 04/10/2007 20:24

Do you have any chocolate? You can do crispy bars with melted choc and cereal.

AnnabelCaramel · 04/10/2007 20:28

Toast the oats (assumes grill is working?) mix with dried fruit and nuts and syrup for crunchy cakey things?

TooTicky · 04/10/2007 20:39

I don't have syrup. Or cereal. I DO have oats, sugar, margarine, molasses, honey, raisins, bananas....

mind you, I don't see why unbaked flapjack wouldn't be ok... more like a granola bar. I eat raw porridge oats for brekkie every morning with milk and they are yummy

AnnabelCaramel · 04/10/2007 20:49

Whassup with your oven anyway? When can you get it fixed? I'd be lost - and thinner - without mine!

TooTicky · 04/10/2007 22:03

It's just decided not to work. Dp says it may just be the element. I am feeling pretty lost as I bake a lot.
However, I'm sure I've had flapjack mixture so yummy I've nearly eaten it all raw. Bit worried it might fall to bits though - I don't mind the oats being uncooked.

how did you get on TT?

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:50

I chickened out I was tired. And
I discovered that dp had crisps in the cupboard, so dcs had sandwiches, crisps and fruit in their lunchboxes. I will try it though.....

Spiderhammer · 05/10/2007 22:51

Crisps Tooticky?

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 23:10

dp bought them [defensive]

OP posts:
TooTicky · 05/10/2007 23:11

They contained sugar and sweeteners

There there. At least you know you have been very naughty.

TooTicky · 06/10/2007 10:55

I will need therapy for this.
