Beef Carbonnard is delicious. It's a rich, beef in ale dish with a slightly bitter after-taste. It's generally served with new potatoes and green cabbage.

oh no no no

best is slow cooked lamb in red wine with garlic and flag beans. Tis my fave (with creamy mash).

Very nice. Have saved those recipes to try on my terrified victims lucky family.

foxinsocks · 04/10/2007 19:51

best thing about it gibberish, is that it hardly takes ANY time at all to prepare

just fry a few things, bang in lamb, shove in the juice stuff and it sits in the oven for hours.

Actually, I had forgotten how much I love casseroles!

gibberish · 04/10/2007 19:58

Reminds me of those 'slam in the lamb' ads! I LOVE cooking - it's my new found obsession Am crap at baking though. Such a lot of work for something with a billion calories that you can't even eat

you need a slow cooker cod

I can give you a greek chicken in red wine then

Bink · 04/10/2007 20:53

if you have an enormous shallowish ovenproof dish, make Delia's beef-&-Guinness stew (though no need for the pickled walnuts), put it in that & put rolled-out ready-made puff pastry over the top - bake for those last 30 mins before eating.

Visitors will swoon over savoury aroma & there will be not a scrap left.

Nigella's greek lamb stew is nice and you can do in advance
