shaping butter

Does anyone have any ideas for how to make nice individual shapes of butter or how to make a cylinder of butter (I'm going to make almond butter tonight but don't want to end up with just an ugly lump which tastes good but doesn't look good)?

you could put it into a pot. or if you want individual pats, roll it out and cut out with a cookie cutter

Do your children have any playdoh moulds (seriously!) or cookie cutters? Washed, they could do the trick. V light dusting of icing sugar between any cut butter shapes will stop them sticking together.

Thanks I hadn't realised it was possible to roll out butter.
