I go to a greengrocer once a week and it always costs between £15 and £20 and that's for me, dh and ds (2.4)

My friend was [shocked] and thought that seemed alot but I only buy what we need and don't throw much away.

so just wondered what people spend on average, I suspect there will be some who think thta's not a lot to spend I will have to worry about ds developing scurvy

£20 for organic fruit and veg box plus a couple of quid for the odd bag of salad or anything we need that wasn't in the box

We spend about £15 a week for 4 of us. Buy mainly from the local greengrocer, odd top up from supermarket, perhaps nearer £20 in total. We have 2 DCs and they are 10 and 14 but they have lunch at school and my DH and I usually eat at work during the week. Your friend's family might not eat as much fruit and veg as you (I was saying to one of my friends that I worry that some days we don't all have 5 portions, she said that some days her DCs had NONE!) It's such an important part of the diet that as long as you aren't throwing much away, it's £15 - £20 well spent, I'd say.
