Approx how long does a shepherds pie take in the oven?

Have a different cooker - a very slow gas one, Haven't made it for a while and can't remember.

I tend to wait until the cheese is bubbly and just turning brown.

Sorry I'm a bit crap with times... I just know what looks right. So perhaps 20-30 mins?

everything is cooked, you just need to heat it through and get the top crispy, no?

about 45mins or so. You need to check the meat part is piping hot and that the potatoes have browned

So allowing for my crap oven, if I put it in at 5.15 it should be ready for 6!

lots of contradictory info here. my guess is that it would take around 45min on gas mark 5-6, 30 mins on gas mark 7 or in fan assistant leccy oven

In my old house with it's lovely fan assisted oven it took roughly 20-25 mins. Like I said the one we have in this house is crap, so will tkae a bit longer.

don't do mine in oven, cook the mince, etc on hob, boil the potatoes, mash, put it all together in a casserole dish, a few knobs of butter on top and then brown it under a grill....

I'd say 30-40 minutes, assuming component parts are already cooked.
