Need to order some in my sainbury's delivery and not sure how much to order, my freak kids love it and I can do without faffing to to shops every 5 minutes.

don't say "make your own", life is too short.

oh ages
at least a week
nowt in it to go off

kid · 03/09/2007 18:53

I think its about a week. I bought some the other week. Once its been opened then it has to be used within 2 days. There will be a best before date on it.

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 18:55

ah good, will order appropriately then

am about to check out so PLEASE post any tales of botulism contracted from mouldy houmous ELSEWHERE. Thanks.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 03/09/2007 18:57

botulism more risky in tinned food
mould is rarely dangerous, just unsightly

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 03/09/2007 18:58

LGJ runs in............shouts....Make your own you lazy cow....and runs out again....

Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:00

And while you are making some can you make some for me too please? Am FAR too lazy!

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:00

No I WILL NOT make my own

I have done that

Then I thought better of it

OP posts:
Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:01

BTW totally of Sainsbury's delivery!

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:02

why would you be of such a thing buda?

ocado, i am of

but sainsburys?

OP posts:
BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 03/09/2007 19:02

But but but............it is easy.......

So my DH tells me....

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 03/09/2007 19:03

She lives in Budapest....they no have Sainsburys in Budapest......

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:06

ah

but your underground is much nicer than ours IIRC, and you also have MUCH better coffee. That must be some consolation.

OP posts:
Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:08

I don't even dream of ocado.

We have Tescos. Imagine your worst nightmare Tescos in a really dodgy area? That's what we have. Biggest in Europe apparently. Crappiest too. I wander around going "I hate Tescos" frequently and loudly. DS tells me off. DH has had to practically sit on me at functions where I realised the guy who ran Tescos Hungary was also in attendance.

So very of Sainsburys!

Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:09

No - not much consolation - sorry. Went to supermarket a few weeks ago and they had no chicken. None. Zero. Zilch. And no decent veg.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 03/09/2007 19:10

We have chicken in Farnham, come and live in Farnham....

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:11

I have actually been to Tescos in Budapest.

I do sympathise. It was really not what I expected.

Oh but ALSO you have PROPER paprika flavour crisps. So really, you cannot complain.

(oh and a nice river and so on)

OP posts:
Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:13

Am so tempted LGJ. Have had enough of this weird life. Went home to Dublin last week to see my new nephew and poor DS just didn't want to come back (neither did I!). He wants normal life - seeing his cousins, playing outside (both my sisters live in fairly safe cul-de-sacs).

5 more years to DH "retiring" - then comes the where to settle arguement - he wants Spain or Portugal - I want normality!

Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:14

Paprika flavour? Yuck - cheese & onion or salt & vinegar for me I'm afraid!

(Sorry am on a downer on here at the moment)

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 19:19

ah well, just me sprinkling paparika on crisps then...

OP posts:
Budababe · 03/09/2007 19:37

Yep - just you!

Greensleeves · 03/09/2007 19:40

make your own

life may be too short (debatable IMO) but it'll be even shorter if you spend it troughing down huge quantities of over-salted supermarket houmous when there are perfectly good chickpeas lying idle..

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 20:04

lol

you know why i don't make my own?

its actually because the kids all too often end up having that, and oatcakes or something, for lunch

and i have yet to find a tupperwear container that is up to the job

oh YES I know i am slack
