and i read somewhere probably on here that it's nice with a little beaten egg on the top of the mash. Only i've just put a whole beaten egg on the top, i'm going to end up with omlette topped cottage pie aren't I?

Use Gary Rhodes recipe (or some of it) It's teh only way to make cottage pie taste nice

Well it's too late now! it's in the oven can I still put cheese on top or am I going to have a cheese omlette cottage pie then? MIL is here as well.
