need quick help on eggs in sponge cake

am about to make a victoria sponge cake that needs three eggs but i only have two! can i top up the liquid volume with anything else? don't have any milk either!

better to make a smaller sponge IMO

oh ok - well it'll have to wait till tom as we need the cake to be this size to make it enough for the rellies coming to the party! about 25! thanks anyway. mad dash to supermarket tom morn and hope to get some quiet time to make it later in the day....................sigh!

make a 2-egg round one now, then another 2-egg round one tomorrow and stack them with buttercream

Would a 3 egg sponge be enough to feed 25 anyway? It wouldn't round ours but perhaps we're greedy

I make a 4 egg cake just for the four of us - will a 3 egg cake really feed 25?!
