I've done a menu planner, I would like some different people to give it a check over and get their HONEST opinion.

Please bear in mind that ALL meals will come with fresh veg etc AND kids choices will be watched.

I am doing this for my two dd's and myself, dh has made it clear he is not interested, BUT, he WILL follow my requests or we will fall out. (there are some meals in there he will eat)

Radley this is making me lol

Thje food listed looks fine, as you say they are having lot sof fresh veg and I assume fruit will be on offer.

Radley · 30/08/2007 16:10

I aim to amuse

I didn't mention the fruit because we always have a full fruit bowl.

Would creme fraiche or flavoured yogurt be best with fruit, they don't like natural yogurt

OP posts:
Radley · 30/08/2007 18:44

Anyone?

OP posts:
Othersideofthechannel · 30/08/2007 19:43

I would probably alternate.

Good quality flavoured yoghurt (without additives) probably better than creme fraiche because there is less fat and you get the health benefits of yoghurt.

How about natural fromage frais? It is less acid that natural yoghurt so your children may like it.

What do you mean your DH is not interested? He isn't going to eat the same food as you all the time? Or he just doesn't want to make an input at the planning stage.

Radley · 30/08/2007 20:00

He's not interested in any of it, the planning side or the food side. He eats what he wants and that's it. I KNOW what is going to happen, one evening he will be doing the tea and because it means he will have to cook he will give them hotdogs or something far less substantial,

Never heard of natural fromage frais but I will give it a go.

OP posts:
Othersideofthechannel · 30/08/2007 20:22

I'm in France but I'm sure it is available in the UK though. It's 'petit filou' without the added sugar and flavouring.

Shame about your DH. Is your life routine enough for you to plan ahead so that you can incorporate his food tastes into the evenings he is charge of the kitchen to keep an overall varied diet? DH is not very confident in the kitchen so finds it very difficult to prepare food when he is in sole charge of the kids. I usually try to menu plan accordingly.

I menu plan every time I do a big shop but as I try to buy what is in season it varies too much to do the same thing on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

Radley · 30/08/2007 20:57

Yes it is in a routine, but he is a very very faddy eater and would prefer to live off bacon sandwiches, egg and chips, steak and chips, fishfinges and chips, chip butties etc.

Yes, we've got petit filou, i get some tomorrow to try on them
