MIL has just moved into her new house, the previous tenant had electic cooker and had the gas pipe capped. MIL has gas cooker and is waiting for the council to send someone out to sort the pipe out for her, so in the meantime she has no cooker, only microwave and we have taken over our george grill for them to use.

Any simple things that she can cook using just the george grill and microwave. I'm trying to think of things that I can cook for them that BIL can pick up on his way home and they can microwave when they get home from work.

TIA

I noticed a microwave mushroom risotto recipe in Rose Elliots vegetarian meals in minutes last night, This is adapted from it

I've got a recipe for microwave chocolate cake.

It's good for cooking fish and for making fruit purees when we have a glut.

Other than that, just use mine for reheating.

I cook almost EVERYTHING in the microwave oven.
Pizza, muffins, cakes, bread, snack bars.
Fish - poached or steamed or baked, with coconut oil and spices.
Vegetables - fresh - are beautifully crisp, no more soggy coojed-to-death greens.
Jacket Potatoes. Sliced and in a casserole, or just cut in half.
Flavour most things that you cook, with oil, spices, sugar, even a dash of salt.
It is the healthiest, coolest, fastest, cleanest and most energy-efficient way. It wins hands down over everything else in my do-it-yourslef kitchen.
