How long should you boil corn on the cob for?
I am having a minor culinary 'mare

DH & I have disputes about this.. he reckons it's nicer shorter rather than longer, boiling too long will ruin them. I don't think it matters so much, but we actually agree that ideal is perhaps 6-10 minutes?

Hey here is a quick way. Wrap each cop in a bit of kitchen towel and put in microwave on full power for 4 minutes each. Ie 2 cobs 8 minutes. Stop and turn halfway through.

They come out lovely, no mess much easier.

Thanks. I forgot to time the damn things too.
I have stuck a fork in, they still seem a bit hard, but I guess undercooked is better for you eh?

I also like them grilled under a hot grill until brown on all sides. mmmmmmmmm!

you can steam them for 15-20mins or they are great on the BBQ - just put them on in their leaves

the colour changes when they are ready... a deeper golden yellow and if the fork is not going in leave them afew more minutes.

10 minutes is ample
