A ragu sauce that appeared in Nigel Slater's column around the time DD1 was born (1996) - have made it every couple of weeks since. Also the best brandy sauce recipe in the world (have been known to eat it cold for breakfast on Boxing Day).

I see that the brownie conversation has continued, but there's still no sign of a recipe.

I'm neither American (I'm actually Irish) nor a tease, so I'll tell you that my muffin recipe is adapted from Susan Reimer's excellent book . It's actually an oatmeal cranberry recipe, but I prefer blueberries. I make it with half wholemeal/half plain flour, less sugar, half the amount of oil but more milk and yogurt.

I will take sealed bids for the recipe for those who are interested.
