Hiya,

We've got brambles in our back garden (can't get rid of them), and we have got blackberries on them!

Are they safe to eat, and if so, what can we do with them?

Thanks

Yes they are safe. Soak them in water to kill any insects and then make jam or a blackberry and apple crumble.

Thanks Carmenere,

And how do I make Jam? lol (sounds nice though)

We have them out the back of our house and have picked loads and made crumble! Delish.

Yes they are safe to eat, we have some too .

Have been looking at recipes, what about

Blackberry and apple pie/crumble

Blackberry Jelly

Blackberry Jam

Summer(ish) pudding

Good luck and enjoy

Of course! Just eat them as they are or add to crumbles/pies.
I like making apple and blackberry pancakes. I whisk wholemeal self raising flour with soya milk, add minimal sugar and finely chopped apple and carefully stir in the berries. Drop tablespoonfuls into shallow hot oil and cook both sides until golden.

It all sounds lovely, I'm going to go and pick some tomorrow.
