I'm feeling very unmotivated - four courses with a pink theme by Friday, please [ingratiating smile]

Need an uber pink menu.

I cook fairly 'cheffy' so all from scratch is fine.

I'd thought about pink champagne jellies for pud, with silver leaf flecks in 'em for bubbles (get me ), but I'm finding it hard to apply myself for the entree, fish, and main course. Alternative puds would also be gladly considered!

This really has to be the pinkest of all pink meals - go wild.

Please help me, I'll post ingratiatingly upbeat and complimentary comments on your threads for weeks to come......

pink turkish delight afterwards

jaynehater · 24/08/2007 18:18

Yes, it's breast cancer.

Loving all these ideas, specially the drinks, hadn't thought as far as drinks

prawn risotto

smoked salmon parcels (with smoked salmon mousse inside)

tomato quiche

watermelon and parma ham

Lobster thermidor

Roast breast of duck (cut nicely to expose the pink)

I am running out of inspiration for your pinkfest. The main course is going to be the biggest problem, I think, especially if you involve meat

Hurlyburly · 24/08/2007 18:21

Someone's bound to have suggested pink champagne but if you stick raspberries in it, it brings out the pinkness and tastes yummy.

whomovedmychocolate · 24/08/2007 18:24

I made some nice pink chocolate once - (you just melt white chocolate and add a bit of red colour and then mix really well)

You could make fairies.

BadKitten · 24/08/2007 18:24

lobster
beetroot mash
rhubarb
trout
prawns
smoked salmon

dh suggests mashed potato with tomato ketchup!
dd says prawn soup!

jaynehater · 24/08/2007 18:24

Right,

Entree - undecided

Fish - think I'll go with the smoked salmon and mousse parcels, maybe on a beetroot and leaves salad.

Main - still stuck.

Pudding - I might still go with my jellies, but the Angel Delight would probably raise a giggle...

This is very helpful, if you come up with anything else tell me, and the drinks are definitely on the menu!

Of course - Rhubarb - what a good idea. Rhubarb tart. It's beautifully pink and tastes yummy. Served with a raspberry cream. Not a coulis, a cream. Can I come?

ShinyHappySchmooo · 24/08/2007 18:41

Prawn cocktail.. Gammon and pineapple.. Angel delight and pink French Fancies..

For the Main do Shepherds pie but add some red colouring to the Mash.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 24/08/2007 19:13

make a 'pink' mayonnaise, for a starter dip perhaps, by adding chilli dipping sauce to the mayo. (white+red=pink!)
Our local pub serves this with chips.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/08/2007 19:25
