If anyone is still reading this thread, I'd just like to add that my daughter could never manage the anyway up cup (too hard to suck water out of), but the new Avent magic cup is perfect and I'd highly recommend it. Totally leakproof and available from Tescos etc.

I agree - the anyway up cup lids always end up leaking on me through the spout and the sides, and I'm not sure how often is reasonable to have to replace the lids? I've bought loads. (No I never dishwashered or microwaved them and always pressed the valve) Decided I was spending too much on them anyway and went for the Avent magic cup which never leaks, plus I can't see how it ever could with that valve.
