when did you give your some cake for the first time. I was asked by dd's nursery this morning if she was allowed to eat a bit of cake( they are very healthy there so would not be too sugary I think)But I had never thought about giving her cake till at least after her first bi'day. THey were fine and just put it on her record, no cake. But am I being mean?? Should I let her eat cake or not.

I am getting so confused with what she should/should not eat at which age?

Advice most welcome

Can't see any reason not to give cake to a 1 year old but maybe someone will tell me different.

I know it's silly really, just needed to ask. You are told not to give them so many things too early I just wondered what others had done.

Unless there's an egg allergy in the family, I don't see a problem with cake. All they'll do at that age is smear it about, squash it into crumbs and have it all over their hands and mouth.
