Oranges.

Thats all I can think of, lol.

Make sure you roast it on a drip tray or stick some scrunched up foil under it so that it doesn't swin () in the fat.

Lucky you, enjoy.

thats helpful b&q

SIL boils it (i know) then strips it when cold and roasts the bits, serves with pancakes, shredded spring onion and peking sauce

I've never had it 'cos I'm a veggie, but hey ho

she says to roast on a tray too

duck good with fruits of all kinds....so if you have some peaches/cherries/plums whatever, fry some onions til soft in a little butter and then stick the fruit in (stoned and cut up) and a bit of vinegar (cider or sherry pref) and some sugar and some spicing (ginger?) and simmer while your duck is roasting and serve with that.

What are you having with it? Ive never had duck but dp always says he would like me to cook it, im not sure if its my thing at least if i liked the stuff to go with it i would attempt it. Is it expensive?

NAB3 · 18/08/2007 15:05

I bought it as I couldn't see any decent chickens. Wouldn't buy the £2 each ones. This is a whole British Duck from Asda's extra special range and cost £6.28. It weighs 2.2kg and will feed 5 of us so I think pretty reasonable. Says to roast for 2 hours 12 minutes so will make a start. Thanks all!

OMG! Just had our duck and it was delicious. Very gamey and tender. Definitely having that again. Though I did have to eat the breast bit with skin on upside down as it looked too much like a duck's skin....
