Seems he drinks too much and eats too little!

My 13 mo seems to drink loads of milk and seems always too full to eat and even though I try to cut back on his milk (he gets 2 or 3 totally full bottles of whole milk a day (9oz+ each) and then will have water or skimmed milk the rest of the time). When it comes to food time he just plays with his food and has very small snacks throughout the day, so he seems to graze and again I have tried to consolidate his eating, but it is v hard to get a routine that works. He also refuses to let me feed him, so I have to try and give him finger food all the time, which mostly ends on the floor!! Any ideas or anyone in the same boat?

Sounds like he is having too much milk. I think my 2 children were both only having maybe a little bottle of milk in the morning and one at bedtime.

I use the milk to settle him to sleep and so have trouble giving him less, any ideas?

Could you try watering down the milk so it doesn't fill him up for so long?

Thanks, it is a good idea. I am going to try that and see how I get on.

My DS is also 13mo. We have just started cutting down on his milk as I recently read that if they have more than two thirds of a pint of milk of day it can contribute to iron deficiency. Also having same problem with finger food as DS thinks it's great fun to give it straight to the dog.
